Solar Thermal and PV in Latin America – an Emerging Market

The smarter E Podcast Episode 102 | July 28, 2022 | Language: English

Throughout the country, solar irradiation is optimal for a wide range of solar technologies. With an annual average of 5.5 kWh/m2 per day, Mexico is a market with a high potential for different types of photovoltaic and solar thermal applications. Both industries have developed and diversified in the last decades. 85% of the territory is optimal for solar projects. The potential is huge but the policy framework rather hinders a massive and faster deployment for solar. What are the odds for Mexico to become the next solar superpower? We talk about this and more with Nelson Delgado, General Director of ASOLMEX & Marisol Oropeza, Founder of Heat Changers.
