Intersolar Europe is the world’s leading exhibition for the solar industry. It takes place as part of The smarter E Europe – the continent’s largest platform for the energy industry.

It focuses on photovoltaics, solar thermal technologies, solar power plants, grid infrastructure, and solutions for the integration of renewable energies. Under the motto “Connecting solar business,” manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, service providers and project planners and developers from around the world meet in Munich every year to discuss the latest developments and trends, explore innovations firsthand and meet potential new customers.

As part of The smarter E Europe, Intersolar Erope takes place parallel to ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe.

Off-Grid: Rural Electrification - Experience and Perspectives 2

Time is running out to achieve SDG 7 by the envisaged deadline of 2030. Though global electrification continues to rise, ensuring universal access to affordable and reliable energy services still requires concerted political effort and major investment in energy technologies and public infrastructure. What can we learn from our experiences to date? What are the key challenges? Where are the pitfalls to avoid in future? Speakers in these two sessions will share their experience of rural electrification and discuss the lessons to learn for future project development, planning and financing.


Agri-Photovoltaics: Harvesting the Sun While Cultivating Crops

A growing number of governments around the world face a double-edged challenge: How can they generate more clean solar power in future while ensuring that enough arable land is available to grow food for an increasing population? One proposed solution is a novel system known as Agri-Photovoltaics - the co-development of land for both solar PV and agricultural applications. Making sure neither use impairs the other, however, is a delicate task. Speakers will examine this unique concept and the technologies involved as well as the lessons learned to date and prospects for the future.</p> <br /><p>This session is jointly organized by Intersolar, FhG/ISE and BayWa r.e.


Data Driven Mitigation Measures in Advanced PV Plant Monitoring

In future, big data analysis using advanced AI techniques based on the monitoring of a large amount of data will enable the development of extensive benchmarking of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the solar PV industry. This will help PV developers to derive the real-life impact on the system losses and reliability of design choices and configuration during design phase, while O&amp;M operators could optimize their maintenance routines during the operational phase. The presentations in session 2 will cover the outcomes of the work carried out by IEA PVPS Task 13 experts to provide best practice on how to gain insights from monitored data and extreme diversity of asset types and operational context within a PV plant.</p> <br /><p>This session is jointly organized by Intersolar and IEA PVPS Task 13.


Off-Grid: New Storage Systems - New Opportunities for Off-Grid Solutions

Falling prices for PV modules and batteries mean that off-grid applications are becoming increasingly attractive for private investors. The rise of EVs in particular offers a specific off-grid scenario and has led automotive manufacturers to devote significant R&amp;D resources to energy storage solutions. At the same time, off-grid systems also present an opportunity for public services and social enterprises in emerging markets. Speakers in this session will examine a selection of technological innovations and the potential for commercial growth and social development off-grid storage offers.
