India in Focus: Events on Solar Cooperation at Intersolar Europe 2026

Industry News – June 10, 2026

When the international solar industry gathers at Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich this June, India will be a particular focus this year. The country is already one of the world’s most important photovoltaic markets and is increasingly developing into a production hub for PV components. For German and European companies, this opens up new opportunities — from technology partnerships, mechanical engineering and research to more resilient supply chains.

The supporting program at Intersolar Europe reflects this development with several events that focus on market opportunities, industrial cooperation and exchange between India and Europe. In addition to expert information and networking formats, the agenda also includes questions relating to supply chains, production technology and the role of women in the solar industry.

A central program item is the IGEF Networking Lunch “Trade Agreement and Beyond: India Market Opportunities” on Wednesday, June 24, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Käfer am See Restaurant at the West Entrance of Messe München. Organized by the Indo-German Energy Forum, the format offers a platform for exchange and networking around current market developments in India and the resulting business opportunities for German and European companies. The focus is also on matchmaking between stakeholders from the private sector and policymakers in both countries. A visitor ticket is sufficient to participate.

In the afternoon, the PV-Action Workshop will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Room B13. The workshop focuses on the development and operation of high-performance photovoltaic infrastructure in Europe and links this topic with international developments, particularly in India. Topics to be discussed include progress in establishing a distributed pilot line in Germany, approaches to securing turnkey consortia through public guarantees, and international pilot lines and their accessibility for European stakeholders.

Also on June 24, the event “Women Powering Progress: Connecting Women in Solar – From India to Europe and Beyond” will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Room 4 of the ICM. With this event, Women Energize Women will bring together women from the solar industry for the fifth time at the event in Munich. The program includes a moderated fireside chat with perspectives from Germany and India, followed by networking formats.

The India-related event series will conclude in the evening with “India Meets EU: Solar Night – Networking Reception.” The reception will take place on June 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Bavaria Lounge and is by invitation only. It is intended to continue the dialogue between Indian and European industry stakeholders in an informal setting and further deepen the topics addressed during the day’s program — market opportunities, cooperation and supply chains. In addition to the publicly listed program items, the organizers refer to further formats designed to strengthen bilateral exchange. These include discussions on joint supply chains with the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association VDMA and a CEO roundtable with high-level industry representatives. India will thus be visible at Intersolar Europe 2026 not only as a growing sales market, but also as a strategic partner for production, technology development and international cooperation along the entire PV value chain.

India’s selection as the focus country underscores a global trend: the solar industry is increasingly thinking about its markets and supply chains in international terms. India stands for enormous growth, rising energy demand, industrial policy ambition and new opportunities for cooperation. For visitors to Intersolar Europe, the supporting program offers an opportunity to get to know this market from different perspectives — from political framework conditions and industrial implementation to networks that are driving the energy transition forward in both personnel and social terms.
