Progress and Solutions at the Intersolar Europe Conference 2026

Industry News – March 24, 2026

Thanks to the growing share of renewable energies, our energy system is rapidly changing from centralized to decentralized, from base load-covering to flexible, and from analog to digital. This shift is affecting large-scale PV plants: New financing and business models, along with innovative applications, are making their way into the market. Experts on these topics will all be under one roof at the Intersolar Europe Conference 2026.

Planning large installations is becoming more and more complex: Hybridization, revenue stacking and optimized energy management are becoming standard practice across the industry. This places additional pressure on system planners, operation and maintenance companies, investors and asset managers to think outside the box. The Intersolar Europe Conference 2026 will offer top-quality insights and the opportunity to connect with high-caliber international industry players. This year’s sessions will discuss the developments that are concerning the industry: How can we navigate a progressively tougher market environment in Europe? How can the planning process integrate PV with battery storage? What are the go-to markets for solar entrepreneurs?

There are several sessions looking at different aspects of PV with battery storage, from planning and bankability to digitalizing O&M and business models for hybrid power plants. We will be taking a closer look at business models for PPAs as well as contracts for difference and auctions.

Conference sessions on the most recent market developments in the global and European solar markets will provide a solid foundation for investment decisions. Like every year, a special highlight will be the presentation of the latest edition of the SolarPower Europe market survey, Global Market Outlook for Solar Power.

Digitalization is also taking center stage at this year’s Intersolar Europe Conference: From energy management to cybersecurity and the implementation of artificial intelligence along the entire supply chain, there will be sessions about all the most important topics.

How can prosumers in the residential system segment contribute to grid stability and supply security? What can grid-forming technology with PV and battery storage contribute to the energy system of the future? These sessions highlight the conference’s theme for this year: system integration.

Last but not least, like always, there will be sessions about solar technology and off-grid systems, of course bringing you the latest insights, such as PV-hydrogen microgrids for off-grid applications.

This year’s Intersolar Europe Conference from June 22–23 at ICM Munich again comes with a first-class accompanying program. On the evening of Monday, June 22, the opening night will provide networking opportunities and the chance to discuss the progress and the future of the European energy transition with industry leaders, policy makers, analysts and researchers. As part of the event at the ICM, International Congress Center Messe München, The smarter E AWARD will be presented in five categories, honoring outstanding innovations that are shaping the future of integrated energy solutions.
