Tongwei Solar, located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in southwestern China, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tongwei Co., Ltd.. Since entering the photovoltaic (PV) market in 2006, Tongwei has grown into a fully integrated PV enterprise, covering the entire PV industry chain, including high-purity polysilicon and wafers, high-efficiency solar cells and PV modules, and PV power plant operations. Notably, Tongwei is the first PV company listed in the Fortune Global 500.
Tongwei is renowned for its global leadership in the polysilicon sector, with a capacity of over 900,000 tons, making it the world's largest supplier. It has also maintained the top spot in global solar cell shipments for seven consecutive years, with an over 140 GW production capacity. On the technology side, Tongwei stands out with the industry's first 210 PECVD poly pilot line and the world's first Industry 4.0 high-efficiency cell production line. These innovations have catapulted Tongwei to the forefront of the sector.
In late 2022, Tongwei entered the module business and quickly achieved remarkable success. By 2023, it ranked 5th in global module shipments, with a current production capacity of 85 GW. Serving clients in over 40 countries, Tongwei offers a comprehensive range of modules suited for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale power plants.
