Individual company presentation

ArcelorMittal is the world’s leading steel and mining company, with a presence in 60 countries. Our purpose is to produce ever smarter steels that have a positive benefit for people and planet. Steels made using innovative processes which use less energy, emit significantly less carbon and reduce costs.

Our key-offer to the solar industry is Magnelis®, an exceptional metallic coating which provides an outstanding corrosion protection for steel parts.

With its unique composition and protective performance, Magnelis® is the leading coated steel for solar mounting structures. For racks and purlins, Magnelis® steel (ZM430, ZM620 and above) offers an indicative lifetime of more than 30 years in C3 environments. This performance has been certified by independent bodies. Magnelis® steel (ZM430 and above) can be used for foundations in soil or concrete.

Combined with the new high strength steel grade S550GD Hyper®, Magnelis® allows to reduce the cost of solar structures by providing weight reduction, increase of span and thus reducing the number of poles per installed MW.

Our efforts in reducing our CO2 footprint at steel manufacturing stage allow us to propose Magnelis® as XCarb® recycled and renewable produced steel, with a CO2 footprint reduced by 70% compared with the conventional blast furnace route. Additionally, XCarb® green steel certificates can be purchased alongside any Magnelis® order, for our customers to reduce their scope 3 emissions declaration.

With a presence in more than 60 countries, an R&D team of 1,500 people, and its international sales network, ArcelorMittal is your partner around the world. With strong technical knowledge, backed-up by years of material testing, ArcelorMittal can support your engineering & material selection for each of your project around the globe, even in the most challenging environments.
