With grid capacity becoming increasingly constrained and electricity price volatility rising across Europe, combining solar PV with battery storage is gaining momentum as a strategic approach for developers. Co-located projects can make more efficient use of existing grid connections, unlock additional revenue streams through energy shifting and ancillary services, and help mitigate curtailment risks.
In this session, organised by European solar association SolarPower Europe together with its Battery Storage Europe Platform (BSEP), industry experts will discuss the growing role of hybrid renewable assets in European energy markets. Project developers will share practical examples from across the continent, illustrating where co-location is already being deployed and under which conditions it becomes commercially attractive.
