The Equipment Procurement Manager (Asia) is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and integrating high-volume manufacturing equipment into Oxford PV’s expansion plans. The role combines market intelligence, supplier relationship management, and technical commercial assessment across the PV, semiconductor, and perovskite manufacturing sectors, with a strong focus on Asian markets.

This role could be based in Asia, exact location is open to discussion. We are open to exploring employment or consultancy routes.

What will you be doing?

• Assessing new high-throughput manufacturing equipment for perovskite-silicon tandem cell and module manufacturing, including new technologies and emerging turnkey solutions
• Building and maintaining strategic relationships with equipment suppliers across Asia while protecting Oxford PV IP and know-how
• Leading equipment supplier evaluations and procurement negotiations
• Representing Oxford PV at industry events, trade fairs, and conferences in Asia.
• Supporting integration of high-volume manufacturing equipment into expansion projects
• Collaborating cross-functionally on specification of production equipment, factory design, and technology transfer
• Conducting supplier qualification, risk assessment, and capability reviews including ESG aligned supplier evaluation with focus on sustainability and resilience
• Maintaining cost and technology roadmaps for critical equipment categories
• Providing regular cross-functional updates on procurement progress and risks
• Monitoring market developments in semiconductor, PV, and perovskite PV manufacturing equipment

What will you need to succeed in the role?

Essential skills:

• 10+ years of experience and deep technical understanding of manufacturing equipment procurement or supply to PV/semiconductor or comparable technology industry
• 2+ years of experience engaging with Asian manufacturing and equipment markets
• The ability to travel frequently or spend extended periods in Asia (~50%)
• A strong understanding of PV manufacturing; (perovskite experience is desirable)
• An assertive, goal-oriented approach to supplier management and negotiation
• Strong, structured communication skills and the ability to simplify complex concepts
• Fluency in English language (both spoken and written ).

Desirable skills:

• German or Chinese language skills.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing line deployment
• Familiarity with automation and digital manufacturing systems
• Strong analytical skills for cost modelling and business case development
