Next2Sun was founded in 2015 to introduce a novel PV concept featuring vertically mounted bifacial solar modules to the market. By using these vertical PV systems, anti-cyclical power generation becomes possible, feeding electricity into the grid at times when conventional PV systems produce less: during morning and afternoon hours. This provides customers with significantly improved grid compatibility and, consequently, better revenues from electricity sales.
Based on this system technology, a broad product portfolio for various applications has been developed. Since then, the Next2Sun Group has become a pioneer in the agri-photovoltaics segment and has implemented projects totaling over 60 MWp in Germany and abroad. With this volume of completed projects, Next2Sun ranks among the most successful companies in this field.
The award-winning technology is primarily used in agriculture through so-called Agri-PV, where the vertical system enables dual land use: The Fields2Sun system is installed in such a way that agricultural activities can continue while simultaneously generating electricity. The land is ecologically enhanced and provides farmers with additional income opportunities.
The use of vertical photovoltaic systems is also designed for applications in the private sector and for businesses. With the Solar Fence, the Fence2Sun system, customers from private, public, and commercial sectors not only gain independent power generation, but the elements also serve as privacy screens and property boundaries.
Both applications share the advantage of anti-cyclical power generation, resulting in significantly higher grid compatibility and, therefore, better revenues from electricity sales or improved self-consumption substitution.
The Next2Sun Group
Since its foundation, the Next2Sun Group has become a pioneer in the field of vertical PV and has since realised projects with a volume of over 60 MWp in Germany and abroad. With this volume of projects already realised, Next2Sun is one of the most successful and experienced companies in this field.
With around 140 employees, the Next2Sun Group is present at various locations in Germany, Austria, Poland and Japan. Over 500 projects (Agri-PV and solar fence) have now been installed in 15 countries.
