BIPV (Building-Integrated Photovoltaics) refers to the integration of solar modules into the building envelope. The PV modules fulfill multiple functions - such as weather protection, shading, and more - beyond pure energy generation. This session demonstrates how these aspects can be addressed in the planning process and what they mean in practice. It also introduces planning tools and design approaches, and outlines how scalable module production in Europe could become a reality.
