There is a growing number of options for industrial and commercial operations looking to benefit from PV installations with integrated battery storage systems and EV charging infrastructure. Demand and profitability analyses have shown that self-consumption is less expensive than grid-supplied electricity - even for operators of e-fleets. Battery storage systems can generate additional earnings through electricity trading and flexibility markets, reduce grid charges and reduce peak power through peak shaving. Storage solutions also enable faster grid connection even when connection capacity is limited, and they create a basis for partly or fully autonomous microgrid concepts. For planners and engineers, consulting and implementing combined systems comes with a higher level of complexity. This session provides an overview of the key planning aspects, available technologies and suitable products.
