Roland Roesch is Senior Programme Officer - RE Markets and Technology Dialogue at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Prior to becoming a Professor for Energy Economics, he worked for 15 years in the Oil & Gas and Utilities Industry as General Manager Power at Shell and Head of Division at E.ON. Preceding that he worked as an Energy Market Consultant for Lahmeyer International and as researcher for renewable energies. He currently leads the IRENA Renewable Energy Project Development Guideline initiative known as the Project Navigator and IRENAs work related to Renewable Energy Technology Innovation and Grids & Storage.
Simon Benmarraze is Analyst, IRENA Project Navigator at the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Before joining IRENA, Simon Benmarraze has worked for more than 6 years in the renewable energy sector developing projects for power and industrial applications worldwide. He has acquired experience in project development as well as building partnerships with policy, business, finance & academic stakeholders. Simon Benmarraze holds a European Master′s Degree in Materials Engineering from Ecole Européenne d′Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux in France and a Master′s Degree in General Management from Vlerick Business School in Belgium.
