Raymond Byrne is a researcher at the Centre for Renewables & Energy at Dundalk Institute of Technology in Ireland and has a Masters degree in Renewable Energy Systems.
His research interests include wind resource measurement, power performance assessment of small to medium scale wind turbines and energy storage systems. He has been the Irish national representative for International Energy Agency (IEA) Wind Task 27 since 2011, and is also a participating member of two International Electrotechnical Council (IEC) technical committees concerning standards development for wind turbines (TC 88) and electrical energy storage systems (TC 120). He also manages and researches an operating 850kW rated wind turbine and energy storage systems on the Institute’s campus.
