Director of Innovation Projects Development in EDP Generation Platform is presently working in several pro-jects of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) Hybridization, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and Floating Solar in Hydro Power Plants. In the past 20 years he has been responsible for several projects in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) of EDP Thermal, Hydro and Wind Power Plants, including the implementation of the Control Center for EDP Renewables Wind Power Plants in Iberia, the Floating Photovoltaic (PV) Pilot System in Alto Ra-bagão Hydro Power Plant and more recently the Floating PV System with Battery in Alqueva Hydro Power Plant and the pipeline of BESS projects in Azores islands, Portu-gal.
Paulo holds a pre-Bologna degree in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems from Instituto Superior Técnico, Univer-sidade Técnica de Lisboa, 1990, post graduated in Project Management in Portuguese Catholic University and holds since 2005 the Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
