Irena holds a master's degree in Political Science from the Warsaw University, with the specialization in the European Union studies.

Irena worked for the Polish Wind Energy Association and the Polish Photovoltaics Association. She was also the vice-president of the RE-Source Poland Hub - platform of the corporates and the renewable industry cooperating to create favourable business and regulatory conditions for concluding corporate power purchase agreements at the Polish market.

Irena is one of the founders of the Visegrad+RE platform integrating RES organisations in Central & Eastern Europe. The parties work together under the auspices of the E3G think tank to accelerate energy transition in Europe.

In October 2022 Irena joined Lightsource bp as the Government Affairs Lead for Poland.

Irena's responsibility within the Polish Photovoltaics Board are the regulatory affairs at the European Union level.
