Soenke Rogalla has been working at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg since 2006. Since 2022, he has headed the Department of Power Electronics and Grid Integration at Fraunhofer ISE in Freiburg. Previously, he held various management positions responsible for PV inverter development, high-performance electronics, inverter testing, PV system concepts, grid interaction of inverters and grid-forming inverters.
Soenke Rogalla graduated from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2006 with a degree in electrical engineering and information technology with a focus on renewable energies. In 2020, he received his PhD in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Braunschweig on the topic of grid interactions of inverters.

What's Hot in Solar Technology: New Tech Trends To Lower Costs & Improve Solar Product Functionality
The advances of technology along the solar value chain in recent years have been breathtaking: Innovations have included considerably larger wafers, new cell technologies, much higher-efficiency solar modules, smarter inverters with management systems that can control fully electrified high-tech homes and less material-intensive fixed or tracking mounting systems that can be installed faster and boost system yields.
This session will provide an overview of the latest technologies:
