Accurate quality control of battery cells is inevitable for cell and module manufacturers. Today, electrical measurements already provide an adequate assessment of the quality and the safety of battery cells. However, these methods may detect a possible failure but neither identify nor localize the inhomogeneity. Non-destructive testing methods allow a precise detection, classification, and especially localization of defects and thus enable the verification of quality and safety standards of batteries.
This workshop informs about innovative research approaches and gives an overview of state-of-the-art testing capabilities of a modern battery test center.
