Tesla Joins Home Solar Market

Industry News – Monday, June 22, 2020

While Tesla is mostly known for its array of electric vehicles, the company now has introduced its new home solar system.

According to Tesla’s own information, their Home Solar system is one-third less expensive than the industry average because of standard sizes and the digitalization progress: an internal software platform plans not only the recommended size for the individual customer, but also the best roof placement for the solar panels, reducing the time for design and planning. Tesla states to have cut sales and marketing costs by 64%.

By investing in core technologies, the company wants to further raise the system’s efficiency and power, while also reducing the costs of interconnections with integrated soft- and hardware.
