Individual company presentation

Upsolar Floating srl was founded in 2016, a company part of the Ialian group Upsolar System Italia srl, and which is dedicated to the study and construction of floating photovoltaic systems.

In 2019 Upsolar Floating filed a patent application for “Gable structure for floating photovoltaic systems”.
This patent protects the innovative “gable” project which allows a light and robust structural solution with a contextual containment of costs.

Floating photovoltaic (FPV) technology was first established in Italy in 2010, followed by other installations in many other countries around the world. FPV system aims to be valid and applicable in all major markets and countries, in sheltered inland water basins, while also remaining applicable for locations near the coast (meaning any body of water, with salty, brackish or fresh water).

By 2014, work had begun on expanding into the Asia Pacific region adding to today’s portfolio that consists of over a decade of project experience where designs continues to be improved upon.

In 2023 a 1 MW floating plant will be inaugurated in the province of Treviso (Italy), located in a former flooded quarry.

Upsolar is a globally leading multinational developer and manufacturer of photovoltaic (PV) modules. Since its founding in Shanghai in 2006, Upsolar uses the highest quality components in its modules and works with industry leading BOS solution providers.

The Italian branch was founded in 2010, in the province of Treviso, and currently has over fifty collaborators and a share capital of 1,400,000 euros. Innovation, training and team spirit are the imperatives of the company, which has seen its turnover grow over the last decade, despite the market trend.
