For years, the AWARD Ceremony has been a highlight of the exhibitions and a source of excellent publicity for the finalists and winners.The AWARD Ceremony is attended by high-caliber dignitaries and brings together Intersolar exhibitors, representatives and decision-makers from the international solar and energy storage industry, as well as the trade press representatives from both home and abroad.
In celebrating its premiere in 2018, the The smarter E AWARD is given in the two categories Smart Renewable Energy and Outstanding Projects which recognizes projects undertaken in the areas of solar, storage, energy management and clean transportation. Again, the Intersolar AWARD honors entries for innovative technical products and solutions around the topic of photovoltaics. With the category electrical energy storage, the ees AWARD pays tribute to pioneering products and solutions for stationary and mobile electrical energy storage systems.
The presentation of the 2018 winners of the AWARDs took place as part of The smarter E Europe in Munich on June 20, 2018.
As musical highlight, special guest Ruslana, ESC winner 2004 and ambassador for 100% renewable energy, performed on stage at the AWARD ceremony.
The best energy suppliers of the D-A-CH region will be honored as energy suppliers in the energy transition at the annually held award ceremony “Energiewende Award – Energieversorger 2018”, which will take place at The smarter E – the leading platform of the new energy world.
Following specialist lectures on the role and significance of energy suppliers for the energy transition, the five highest rated from 1,700 analyzed energy suppliers in Germany as well as in Austria and Switzerland, will be awarded in the following five categories: electricity, heat, energy efficiency, mobility and energy transition.

The Georg Salvamoser Prize is one of the most lucrative environmental prizes in Germany and is open to individuals as well as groups, associations, companies, institutions and communities from throughout the German-speaking countries. The award is presented by the Georg Salvavoser Foundation together with the city of Freiburg. It honors people and institutions that have been exemplary advocates for a sustainable energy supply.
In 2018, the Georg Salvamoser Prize, which is endowed with a total of 25,000 euros, will be awarded for the fifth time. A special prize, JUNGE ENERGIE (YOUNG ENERGY), is specifically aimed at school classes, youth groups and young companies. 5,000 euros of the total prize money has been reserved for this award.
