Summary

Far from being limited to land-based systems, solar photovoltaics can be deployed both on inland rivers, lakes and waterways and off-shore on the vast expanses of ocean. Floating solar farms offer an efficient and environmentally-friendly solution capable of adapting to prevailing conditions and exploiting uninhibited sunlight. Plus, by taking up less surface area than land-based systems, floating solar PV are far less intrusive than land-based systems. This session will discuss recent developments in this exciting, up-and-coming field and analyze the lessons learned to date.
