The trade-fair centre is about 20 minutes from the city center by subway. The U2 subway runs from 5:30 to 24:00. It goes straight to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre / ICM ("Messestadt West" and "Messestadt Ost" stations.)

During peak periods, the U2 runs at 5-minute intervals:
7.00am – 9.40am (from Hauptbahnhof)
2.45am – 7.05pm (from Messestadt West)

Tickets for public transportation can be purchased from ticket machines and at ticket counters at all subway stations.

Both single and multiple-ride tickets are available for purchase. The fare depends on the number of zones you travel through. Within the city limits, including trips to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre, you must validate twice on the multiple-ride ticket with the machines provided.
