Nearly 100 participants attended the lecture on “industrial and commercial photovoltaic roofs" at Intersolar Europe on June 14, 2012. The program gave an insight into practice, financing and building code requirements of PV systems on industrial and commercial buildings.
We give a brief summary of the contents:
Construction: Due to the usually large roof areas industrial and commercial buildings often offer optimal conditions for the installation of photovoltaic rooftop systems. In addition to the associated cost benefits attractive opportunities in case of own use of the resulting electricity arise: By using an intelligent power management up to 100 percent of the electricity generated can be used for own purpose.
Funding: In addition to the qualitative assessment of the project, banks often have a close look at the applicant before they accept a financing proposal: A professional appearance, carefully prepared application documents, the personal commitment and a long-term perspective are often decisive.
Law: PV systems are on track to be recognized as standard construction products. It should be noted particularly that the building owner is fully responsible for compliance with building regulations.
