Gustavo Malagoli Buiatti received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Federal University of Uberlândia in 2002 and the Ph.D. degree from Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 2006. In 2006, he was with International Rectifier, Borgaro, Italy. From 2006 to 2008, he was with Alstom Transport, Séméac, France, as a post-doc researcher (MSCA fellow). He was with Mitsubishi Electric Research Centre Europe, Rennes, France, as a Researcher and Team Leader on Sustainable Energy Systems, mainly grid-connected Photovoltaic Systems (2008-2011). Author of several technical papers and patents all over the world. Founder of ALSOL Renewable Energies (formerly Malagoni Engineering), Uberlândia, Brazil, currently working as its CEO, developing renewable energy solutions for the Brazilian market through the combination of photovoltaics, biogas, biodiesel and storage grid-connected systems. Responsible for the first grid-connected DG system in Brazil (2012), Gustavo is the technical responsible for more than 24 MW Distributed Generation systems all over the country under operation (10 MW) and under execution (14 MW).
